I know it is nearly impossible to save money in Disneyland with all the fun treats and incredible souvenirs, but how can we keep under or near our budget? Any tips on saving money?

There are many ways to save money when going to Disneyland, both before and during your trip! First is to, of course, book your hotel and tickets through Get Away Today. We always have the cheapest prices, and if we don't, we guarantee to price match anything. When you book through Get Away Today you also get $400 worth of coupons to use around the southern California area.

Travel during the off-season. Usually during the months that children are in school ticket pricing and hotel rates go down. It is smart to travel during these times, you will find more comfortable weather, and fewer crowds too.

Pre-purchase Disney gifts cards for each of your children before you go. Give each child a gift card with an allotted amount of spending money. You can tell your children that this money is their spending money for treats, souvenirs, or anything they want while they are in the park. Once it is gone, it is gone. This will help you stay on budget and will keep your kiddos from asking for everything they see.

Bring snacks, lunch and refillable water bottles! Snacks are fun and you can't not get them, but instead of purchasing treats and snacks because your hungry, get them for the experience. Buying treats to share will save you from having to buy each member of you group a treat every time someone is hungry, bring snacks from home to have with you for when you get hungry. You can refill your water bottle at any drinking fountain, which is great to save money and to have cold water in your bottle at all times.

Purchase your souvenirs before you go! Buy t-shirts, ears, toys, or treats before you even get to the park. This will allow you to find the best priced items that you want and will help take away the temptation to buying more in the parks.
If you have young children, leave a small souvenir on their pillow each night. If they can go the entire day without begging or whining for gifts or toys they can get their (pre-purchased) gift on their pillow when they get to the hotel!

Definitely book through Get Away Today best prices! We like to bring in a backpack with our own water bottles, snacks like trail mix, granola bars, gold fish, fruit snacks and beef jerky. Just make sure nothing is in glass bottles or containers. Having a hotel with a breakfast helps for sure one less meal to worry about. I like the idea that was mentioned earlier about getting gift cards before going and that is the amount the kids have to spend!
